dysuria

Dysuria is a condition of painful or difficult urination. Bacterial infection is a primary cause, but vascular problems, especially hypertension, can be contributing factors. Patients with diabetes and cardiac failure are also subject to dysuria. Nursing home patients and those who are primarily bed-ridden are prone to dysuria. In men, an enlarged prostate is frequently the main contributing factor.
