Anne Dwyer, COMT

Anne Dwyer is a Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist with a subspecialty in Ophthalmic Surgical Assisting. She is employed at Eye Associates of New Mexico, a large private ophthalmology practice. She is the clinical coordinator for Dr. Arthur J. Weinstein, M.D., and has worked as his medical scribe and scrub tech (cataract and LASIK surgery) for the past eight years. She has extensive experience assisting in cataract surgery, and is well versed in phacodynamics. She is a certified VISX S-4 laser operator, and has experience performing various ophthalmic tests. She is also skilled in medical coding and billing.

Anne has an Associates degree in Business and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. She will complete this in May of 2009. In addition to her love of ophthalmology, Anne enjoys the business of ophthalmology. She serves on Eye Associates’ Quality/Compliance committee and Safety committee. She is a member of the American Association of Ophthalmic Executives (AAOE) and the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA).

Anne will be pursuing certification as an Ophthalmic Coding Specialist (OCS) and Certified Ophthalmic Executive (COE) over the next year.
