He completed his undergraduate degree at Ohio State University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Genetics. He received his doctor of medicine degree from Ohio State University College of Medicine in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his transition year residency at Riverside Hospital in Columbus and his residency at The Ohio State University Hospitals in the Department of Ophthalmology. He completed two fellowships at the Ohio State University Hospital, one in glaucoma and one in Cornea and Anterior Segment.
